This site was named for my service dog, Bekah. She was an American Staffordshire
Terrier mix - the common label would be pit bull as the term is used to
cover several actual breeds. Because she was truly a gift from God to
me and to those who were blessed to come to know her, I became very interested
in fighting BSL (Breed Specifc Legislation).
The scope of this site has changed a bit
because the Lord called Bekah home to Him in February 2006, where she
now waits for me with Him. Bekah and I were living in Henderson, Nevada
at the time, but I found that I could not function in such a large city
without her. So, a very kind, young friend convinced me to move to a really
nice small town in northern Nevada - Fallon. Some of you might recognize
the name from "Top Gun." I'm just barely getting settled in
here and don't even have my own internet connection yet (gasp!), but will
try to continue working on this site.
So, I still plan to add more brag pages about my Bekah and informative
pages about service dogs, pet pit bulls, and BSL. There will also be links
supplied to sites about canine health and nutrition. And, I will be including
some pictures of Fallon and some history of this area and I will try to
post health warnings for pets. So be sure to bookmark this site and then
check back!
Whatever brought you here, I do hope that you find something that encourages
you or touches your heart and mind in some way.
Remember, this is a day the Lord has made, so rejoice and be abundantly
glad in it! Enjoy!
8 May 2006 - in memory
of 1,056 pit bull-looking dogs who have been killed by Denver Animal Control
from 9 May 2005 until 8 May 2006. People, this is not the number of pets
killed at any of the surrounding shelters or animal control facilities
- this is Denver alone! One thousand fifty six family members, one thousand
fifty six beloved pets each with a name were killed because a law said
they looked as though they could be a problem! BSL - Breed Specific Legislation
is the problem, not the cure. Please join the fight. All you have to do
is support sensible laws that protect the public - how hard is that? Just
think of the lives that could be saved - human and canine. Don't destroy
families because of criminals - fight back with intelligence. Support
Dog
Responsibility Initiative not BSL.
